There's a strong Irish interest in tonight's BAFTA awards in London with 11 nominations for Irish films, actors and film-makers.

Brooklyn has 6 BAFTA nominations including Outstanding Film and a Best Leading Actress nod for Saoirse Ronan.

For his role in Steve Jobs, Michael Fassbender is nominated for Best Leading Actor.

Emma Donohue, the writer of Lenny Abrahamson's movie Room is nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The Lobster, which starred Colin Farrell and was shot in Kerry, is also nominated for Outstanding Film.

And Stephen Fingleton is nominated for Outstanding Debut for The Survivalist.
