Irvine Welsh is a highly respected novelist, playwright and screenwriter.

He is probably best known as the author of Trainspotting, his debut novel which was later made into a hugely successful film.

Who could forget this gem?

His latest book, The Blade Artist, sees the return of one of Trainspotting's iconic characters, Francis Begbie.

They were also joined by Ciaran McMenamin, an actor and new author who has just published his highly anticipated debut novel, Skintown, which is set in his native Northern Ireland.

He says, "I really wanted to tell a story about a young Northern Irish person who sees Northern Ireland in the '90s with the absurdity it deserves."
