If you mention Diary of a Wimpy Kid to most kids in this country, most of them have read at least one of the books in the series. Just the 165 million copies of the book have been sold worldwide at the last count!

So when we heard that the book was to be translated into Irish, we asked Wimpy Kid author Jeff Kinney to appear on the show. As a resident of Boston, Jeff said staying up until 3:40am to do the interview live was no problem and so he appeared on the show this morning.

He was very proud to launch 'Dialann Duradain' (Diary of a Puny, Insignificant Person) on the show this morning in the Irish language.

In preparation for Jeff's appearance, Charlie & Shauna from the breakfast show went to the Holy Rosary Primary School in Firhouse in Dublin to hear from the kids about their love for his books. Some of the answers were so CUTE & Jeff was absolutely delighted. Have a listen...

EXCLUSIVE ALERT: You can hear Ian's chat with Jeff in the podcast below which also includes an exclusive about the upcoming 11th Wimpy Kid book. Enjoy!

Dialann Duradain (Diary of a Puny, Insignificant Person) is available in all good bookstores today across the country. Happy World Book Day everyone.
