Mumford & Sons - 'The Cave'

Regular listeners to the Ray D'Arcy Show on Today FM will be very familiar with this single as it was one of the first tracks from Mumford & Sons' debut album ('Sigh No More') that the afternoon DJ took a shine to.

Having made themselves a household name with previous single "Little Lion Man", the London outfit follow up with another uplifting track that mixes bluegrass with rock in the style of the anti-folk movement.  "The Cave" starts with a melodic acoustic refrain, but it's when the rolling banjo and pounding drums kick in that this track sparks into life and has you humming along in no time.

Refreshingly low-key in their promotion efforts, this is a band who clearly enjoy what they do and don't fancy getting bogged down in the humdrum of press interviews and celebrity appearances, preferring to focus on the music instead.  Impressive follow-up from an impressive album.
