A new study from the ESRI says sending your child to a childminder or creche does not have any negative affect on their development.
The latest chapter in the Growing up in Ireland study has found no difference in cognitive abilities at age five when you compare children who have been minded at home and those in childcare.
Over 11,000 children and their families were surveyed as part of the study.
