Arnotts Department store in Dublin has been bought by the Selfridges Group.
The Group announced this evening that it's acquired the iconic Dublin store from Fitzwilliam Finance Partners.
The new owners say they plan to build on Arnotts brand and unique identity.
The group already owns Brown Thomas and the Selfridges chain in the UK.
Trade union Mandate has given a "cautious welcome" to the purchase.
SIPTU members have also welcomed the new owners plan to maintain and develop the business.
