Task 5: Eco-Holiday
Our contestants were challenged to devise and eco-holiday based in Ireland as the fifth task in our Know Your Number competition. They had to ensure they kept the carbon number to a minimum while planning a holiday that won't compromise on fun and relaxation.
Each contestant is asked to plan a complete three day holiday to a destination within Ireland, at least 50 miles from their home in the most eco-friendly manner possible. Judging of this task will primarily concern itself with transport to the holiday destination, ‘eco-friendliness’ of activities, transport to activities and initiative shown in contestants holiday planning. Initiative should be clearly displayed in planning six different activities. Contestants are asked to record details in a Microsoft Word document (or hand written) using the headings shown below as a template, which may be expanded upon.
The Know Your Number judges will have the final determination with regard to the marks allocated to each contestant.
Trevor Gleeson won the task, he joined us with our judge Davy Phillip and John Kilcannon of Failte Ireland joined Matt on Friday to talk about the task, have a listen back here.
