This week, we want you to take on a foodie pursuit...
• This week’s Tony Fenton Show Challenge with discoverireland.ie – is to transform yourself into a fully self sufficient champion chef with the help of John Hempenstall at Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese and Catherine Fulvio at Ballyknocken Cookery School in Wicklow.
• You and a friend will spend one morning at the Hempenstall’s family farm, where you’ll learn first-hand how the farm’s award winning home-made Wicklow Farmhouse Cheeses are made. You’ll help milk the cows and you’ll also give a hand in making – and tasting – their distinctive cheeses.
• That afternoon, you’ll head off to the Ballyknocken Cookery School in Glenealy, Co Wicklow. There, you’ll have a private cookery lesson with celebrity chef Catherine Fulvio, who will teach you how to make a full dinner, incorporating some of your Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese into your culinary masterpiece!
• Afterwards, sit back and enjoy the fruit of your labour! You’ll also be staying for 2 nights at Ballyknocken House, the charming Victorian Farmhouse also run by Catherine Fulvio.
