Emmy The Great and Tim Wheeler


Emmy the Great & Tim Wheeler (from Ash) were our guests in studio today and performed a new track called 'Christmas Day (I Wish I Was Surfing)'. They play a very festive acoustic show at Tower Records on Wicklow Street tomorrow, December 9th, to celebrate the release of their new album - "This is Christmas". It is the only Irish show the duo will play in support of the album.

Ben Carrigan

Ben Carrigan was our guest this afternoon. Former drummer of The Thrills, Ben is releasing his debut solo album this Friday, called The Greatest Narrators. His new single is called 'You Knew It All Along'. The album launch is on next week, Wednesday 28th September, at the Sugar Club, Dublin.

Noah and the Whale

Their new album LAST NIGHT ON EARTH is out now. They played a sold out show at Whelans on Sunday night and they will return to Dublin to play the Academy on Sunday 8th May.

Delorentos

Delorentos were our special guests in studio today. They're playing at the Inspirations Gig at the Olympia on Friday night, raising money for Barretstown. They'll be performing Beatles classic Come Together on the night and gave us a sneak preview in studio today. The lads are currently working on their third studio album.

Royseven

Royseven joined us in studio and performed a special version of their single 'We Should Be Lovers' for Tony.

Royseven’s new album ‘You Say, We Say’ is out now. They play a sold out show in Academy 2 in Dublin on Thursday 31st March and will play two further shows at the Academy 2 on Saturday 14th May – the first is an all ages afternoon gig and the second is an over 18s evening gig. Royseven are confirmed to play at this year’s Oxegen festival on Friday 8th July.

Conor's nominated for the Choice Music Prize which takes place tonight at Vicar Street - he's performing at the event as well which will be broadcast live on an extended edition of Paul McLoone's show, 7pm-11pm tonight.

 

Bruno Mars


 

Bruno Mars was our special guest in studio this afternoon, Wednesday 2nd March..

As well as having massive hits with his singles 'Just the Way You Are’ and ‘Grenade’, Bruno has been co-writer and/or performer on three of the biggest songs in the world in 2010: Cee Lo Green’s 'Forget You', Travie McCoy’s 'Billionaire' (which Bruno wrote with barely a dollar to his name) and B.o.B.’s 'Nothin On You'.

Bruno’s debut album ‘Do-Wops and Hooligans’ is out now.

He plays his first gig in Ireland next Wednesday 9th March at the Olympia.

Def Leppard will be playing Belfast’s Odyssey on Tuesday 7th June and Dublin’s O2 on Wednesday 8th June, with special guests ALICE COOPER and THIN LIZZY. These dates are in addition to their headline slot at Download Festival 2011 on Friday 10th June and will kick off the band’s world tour.

Sara Bareilles

Sara Bareilles joined us in studio this afternoon, Thursday 24th February. She’s been nominated for a Grammy award three times and she’s sold over 1 million records worldwide. She performed her single ‘King of Anything’ in studio today and also treated us to her version of ‘Single Ladies’.

 

She’s all the way from California and supports Maroon 5 at the Grand Canal Theatre tonight.

Steve is releasing his 2nd solo album Peace City West on April 1st. It’s a follow up to his debut album, The Kundalini Target. After he tours the UK with Beady Eye in April he’ll be playing his own Irish tour in May
