Tony's Biography and Q&A!

Tony started his love affair with radio as a kid, when he listened to Radio Luxembourg late at night with the radio under his pillow, so as to not wake his parents! He started collecting records and he DJ'd with his friends Ian Dempsey and Barry Lang while still at school.

He started his radio career at 17, when he got his first job with ARD Radio, moving on then to the likes Sunshine Radio and Radio Nova. In 1983 when the Dublin pirate stations closed down, Tony moved to Denmark to work the live club scene, and then Tenerife on the Canary Islands. After a call from RTE in 1985, he came home to Ireland and auditioned for 2FM.

After a successful audition Tony presented shows like The Hotline, The Great Giveaway Show, The National Top 40, The Afternoon Show and the hugely successful Drivetime Show. He has also appeared on TV shows like The Late Late Show, The Restaurant, The Panel and Podge and Rodge.

In 2003, Tony joined Today FM and is currently presenting the Afternoon Show from 2.30 to 4.30pm. Tony also won the PPI Music Broadcaster of the Year in 2008.
