Staff at St James's Hospital in Dublin have voted overwhelmingly (93%) in favour of strike action, in a row over parking fees.
SIPTU members say management is trying to bring in an annual 500 euro fee for health workers to park their cars at hospital facilities.
The union says a decision will be made in the coming days concerning the date and duration of the strike action.
SIPTU also says it also remains available for discussions with management on the issue.
