Up to 3.2 million Irish citizens are eligible to vote in the two referendums - on allowing same-sex couples to marry, and on lowering the minimum age of candidates for the presidency to 21.
This funky Reverb form Twitter shows the numbers of Tweets using #hometovote. At 09:30 this morning there were 110 tweets per minute.
Voters will get two different ballot papers - the white one is for the marriage referendum, and the green one is for the presidential age.
You can vote in the referendums by marking an X in the box beside your preference on each of those ballot papers.
If you write anything else on the paper you risk having it declared as a spoilt vote - and remember that inside polling stations, photography is strictly forbidden (including selfies!).
Elsewhere in Carlow-Kilkenny. over 100,000 Irish and British citizens are entitled to vote in a by-election, to fill the seat in Dáil Eireann left vacant by the European Commissioner, Phil Hogan.
Counting will begin at centres around the country at 9am tomorrow.
