ESB working to restore power across the south

Thousands of homes are still without power this afternoon - after lightning strikes damaged power lines.

Around 3 thousand 500 homes in the south are affected - with most of the outages in parts of Kilkenny, Clonmel, Bandon and Arklow.

Meanwhile, Irish Ferries swift sailings have been cancelled over the next two days because of stormy conditions.
