Tourism sector optimistic for 2014

Failte Ireland hopes to build on success of Gathering

Confidence in the tourism industry is at its highest level in years – with almost all accommodation providers expecting to increase or maintain business in 2014.

Failte Ireland credits the Gathering with driving growth last year – but says its momentum will be maintained.

While Dublin is being targeted as in need of a reputational makeover – with some who haven’t visited branding it “boring, dark and grey.”
