Taoiseach says decision to investigate was his and his alone

The Taoiseach says a full Commission of Inquiry into alleged Garda misconduct WILL be arranged if a barrister recommends it.

Enda Kenny has confirmed he's asking a senior counsel to review a dossier of alleged Garda misconduct compiled by Sgt Maurice McCabe.

The Taoiseach's told the Dail that he hasn't given the dossier to any of his cabinet colleagues - including the Minister for Justice.

Tomorrow's Dáil agenda has been abandoned in favour of an all-day debate on the current issues surrounding the Gardaí.

The Taoiseach says it was his idea to give the dossier to a senior counsel - and that the report will be given to TDs as soon as it's finished:
