Record 50,000 get CAO offers

Points up in Science, I.T., down in Medicine

Over 50 thousand students are getting their first-round offers from the CAO this morning.

Early indications suggest that the points inflation continues - after record numbers got bonus points for taking honours maths.

Half of the applicants are expected to get their first choice, while one in three will get one of their top three.
