Jason Priestley starred in 9 seasons of the hit drama series as Brandon Walsh. The actor and heartthrob admitted that he enjoyed the attention: “I’m not going to lie, it was fun...I played Brandon Walsh, I was the nice guy!”.
He also revealed that he spent a decade worrying about the success of the show and his future career:
“I was fearful that it was going to end right from the very beginning and, when the show got incredibly popular, all I kept thinking was “it’s too popular, this is too much”. The candle that burns twice as bright only burns for half as long. I could see the end of my career coming so quickly because the show was so popular. I was terrified the whole time. It was the most horrifying experience I’ve ever been through, I swear to God”.
Jason, who has tonnes of experience directing for TV, has made his directorial debut with new film, Cas & Dylan.
Cas & Dylan screens at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival tonight. Starring Richard Dreyfuss and Tatiana Maslany, it’s a road movie about a terminally-ill doctor and a young writer who are thrown together on a memorable journey across Canada.
