8000 Danske Bank accounts closing by Monday

Customers reporting difficulty getting through to Bank

8,000 current accounts at Danske Bank are closing - with customers advised that they won't be able to access them from Monday.

The bank announced in October that it was closing down its personal banking operations in Ireland.

For customers that have current AND savings accounts - they'll be able to access their funds until February 21st.

Danske says it's dealing with a high volume of queries at present - but that phone lines will be open until 8 pm tonight and 9 to 4.30 tomorrow and Sunday.
