Shave or Dye – what's it all about?
Today FM are launching our first charity drive in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. We're calling on listeners to sponsor our presenters to Shave or Dye their hair, or join us by taking part in their own Shave or Dye event.
You can shave anything you want to, but if you are looking for people to sponsor you, you’ll probably need to go for the head! If shaving isn’t an option and you still want to take part, why not dye your barnet psychedelic pink?
So how do I get involved?
- Sponsor Today FM’s Shave or Dye. To donate €2 simply text the word SHAVE to 57080*. You can donate as often as you like.
- Sponsor a presenter or friend of Today FM’s Shave or Dye. Ever wondered what Ian Dempsey would look like with no hair? Or maybe you'd like to see Matt Cooper dye his locks shocking blue? Click here and choose who you want to sponsor and make a secure online donation.
- Do It Yourself. Go it alone and get friends, family and work colleagues to sponsor you. Or why not organise your own Shave or Dye event in work, college or just with a group of friends. When is the big Shave?
Everybody in Today FM is going to Shave Or Dye their hair on Thursday February 18th (and it will be broadcast live on air!) but you can choose to Shave Or Dye any time around that date that suits you.
What's it all in aid of?
Each year in Ireland, almost 28,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed, resulting in over 7,800 deaths. Cancer related illness accounts for almost one quarter of the annual death toll in Ireland. Here in Today FM we have set ourselves the goal of raising €200,000 to help great work of the Irish Cancer Society in cancer research and care.
