Ricky Gervais hosts Golden Globes this Sunday

Paddy Power are tipping English comedian Russell Brand and his estranged pop star wife Katy Perry to become the brunt of Ricky Gervais’s jokes when he takes to the stage on Sunday night to present this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

The funny man, who caused a stir when he presented last year’s Golden Globes, is once again gearing up to unleash his sarcastic tongue on a whole host of celebrities and with Perry and Russell recently announcing their separation, that makes them prime suspects at 5/1 to be the first on his hit list!

Other celebrities who could find themselves in Gervais’ firing line include Madonna at 11/2, Mission Impossible star and Scientologist Tom Cruise at 6/1 and Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore at 10/1. Justin Bieber and Charlie Sheen are also far from safe at odds of 14/1.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: "There were many people quick to criticise Ricky Gervais after he hosted last year’s glitzy Globe awards but he must have done something right if he was asked back for a second year! We can’t wait to see who he gives a good tongue lashing to!"

Vogue and Brian to Wed (Brogue!)

The pair met last April in their native Ireland and have been inseparable ever since.

Singer/songwriter McFadden, 31, popped the question to DJ Williams, 26, while he was on tour with Stevie Nicks in November.

He confirmed the end of his seven-year engagement to Australian singer Delta Goodrem on April 1 last year.

The pair have shown off the engagement ring in this week’s OK Magazine.McFadden told the publication he knew he wanted to marry Williams soon after meeting her.

"It’s early (to be engaged) when you think about how long we’ve been together, but not when you consider the amount of time we’ve spent together… we’ve literally spent every second of every day together for eight months now," he said.

McFadden said he had informed Goodrem, now dating US singer Nick Jonas, of his engagement, and Williams had done the same to her ex-boyfriend.

"We’ve let (our exes) know out of respect," McFadden told OK. "They both went 'Great, as long as you’re happy' because they’re both happy as well and have moved on. We don’t have any nasty 'ex' animosity with our recent partners."

McFadden said unlike his lengthy engagement to Goodrem, there will be a wedding - in Europe - this year.

"I never really planned to get married then,” McFadden says of Goodrem. "Vogue and I are actually setting a date and we’re actually getting married."

 Brit Award Nominees

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran led the field with four BRIT nominations on Thursday, one ahead of global chart queen Adele who is down to perform at the awards after months out for throat surgery.

The annual honors, Britain's top pop awards, will be handed out at London's O2 Arena on February 21, and Adele's live UK comeback is likely to be among the highlights.

The 23-year-old had the world's top-selling album last year with "21", which sold 5.8 million copies in the United States alone, and picked up six Grammy nominations in a triumphant year.

Adding to her list of accolades on Thursday, the "Rolling in the Deep" singer earned three BRIT nods and was bested only by the less familiar face of Sheeran.

Adele is up against Sheeran in the British Album category for "21" and was also nominated for British female solo artist and British single ("Someone Like You").

Jessie J competes in the female solo artist, British breakthrough and single categories, the latter for "Price Tag".

Veteran Kate Bush is also vying for best female act, sealing a remarkable comeback.

Florence & the Machine and Coldplay are each nominated twice, as are Emeli Sande, this year's Critics' Choice winner, and Americans Bon Iver and Aloe Blacc.

Playing at the awards ceremony next month are expected to be Adele, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Sheeran, Florence & the Machine, Rihanna, Noel Gallagher and Blur, recipients of the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, according to a list released by organizers.
