I suppose there were two places where i grew up. I did the childhood/teenage bit in Mayo, the adult bit in Cork. I'm very fond of both places, but since i was conceived in the back seat of a rusty Ford Cortina out side a bingo hall in Louisburgh i am 100% Green & Red registered.
Last Sundays All Ireland quarter final decider was one of the best games of football i have ever witnessed, and to be honest i would have being happy with the out come regardless who won.
The win was particularly sweet because everyone said that Mayo would be 'bate off the pitch' buy the reigning champions. But something happened, we played like never before. Pat Spillane said last week that Connaught football should be downgraded to junk status, then he turned around on the 'Sunday game' and said "Mayo winning was no great surprise" so it was justifiably hilarious that a hardened Mayo supporter friend of mine would post a Facebook status update saying " Pat Spillane, shove it up your hole "
