Ahead of Mayo's clash with Kerry on Sunday, the Virgin Mary made an appearance at Knock.
A 70ft tall apparition popped up on the Knock Basilica during the anniversary of her appearance at the famous holy site 138 years ago.
Except this time Mary was holding the Sam.
Paddy Power were behind the stunt, which aimed to inspire victory for Mayo on Sunday in the All Ireland Football Semi Final.
Paddy Power spokesperson Féilim Mac AnIomaire said: 'As far as I’m aware Jesus’ mammy has never appeared in Dublin, Tyrone or Kerry so she’s definitely rooting for the Green and Red.
'However, as much as they love her in Knock we reckon they would still rather see Cillian O’Connor raising the Sam Maguire.
'Mayo’s problems on the pitch seem to stem from the church so the Virgin Mary’s reappearance in the county might be just what this team needs to pop its All-Ireland cherry.'
Of course some people failed to see the joke and took to Twitter to voice their disappointment in the betting company.
