A man in his 60s has been killed after he was hit by a car in Dublin.
It happened earlier today when he was out walking on the Finglas Road in Dublin 11 at around midday today.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, while his body was brought to the Morgue Whitehall for a postmortem exam.
The road was closed to facilitate a forensic exam but has since reopened.
The male occupant of the car was not injured.
Gardaí in Finglas are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who travelled on the Finglas road between 11:45am and 12:15pm to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01-6667500 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
