Ireland’s newest careers website Skilled Careers featured on The Sunday Business Show with Conall on Sunday. They give individuals free tips and advice on how to secure their dream job. They also connect individuals with experienced mentors from a range of industry backgrounds.
During the show Brian O’Regan the company’s CEO said that they were looking for mentors in the Pharmaceutical, IT and Financial Services sectors, who can work with individuals to ensure they can accelerate their career. Mentors work with individuals either face-to-face or on-line and provide a range of services that can help individuals achieve career success, on a fee basis.
Brian said
“We are seeing common mistakes with people we work with. CV’s are poorly structured and individuals are not selling their skills effectively. Regarding interviews, individuals are poorly prepared and they are weak when it comes to salary negotiations”.
Brian developed the idea for Skillda Careers based on his own experiences and he felt there was a lack of access for individuals to speak to hiring managers within their industry. He felt that being able to connect with experienced mentors in your industry would greatly enhance individual’s career opportunities.
