Louise Bruton discusses her experience of receiving unwanted help as she is in a wheelchair

Journalist Louise Bruton was live in studio this morning to chat about a recent piece on her blog which has since been published in the Irish Times

Louise is 28 and has been in a wheelchair for the last number of years. However, in recent times, she has noticed a massive upsurge in the amount of people assisting her when she doesn't need the assistance.

She has had people come up behind her and push her without her consent and has even had people pat her on the head.

Now, Louise has decided to explain to people why she feels it's so important to ask people with mobility issues if they need help and why she doesn't need people to tell her how great she is for living her own life.
