Patrick - a Traveller from Cork - wins anti-racism award

The new government is being urged to appoint a new Junior Minister for Integration to tackle Ireland’s racism problem.

The call from the Show Racism the Red Card Campaign follows a racist attack in Dublin last week in which three boys were knocked unconscious.

Hundreds of students have today attended a creative competition run by the campaign to stop racism.

17 year old Patrick O’Reilly won the individual award for a rap he wrote and performed himself, based on his own experiences of racism as a Traveller.
