Now, here's a nice light topic for your Monday lunch time! Death is clearly one of the least favourite things we like to talk about but unfortunately none of us can avoid it, after all death is a part of life. 

Irish startup Aftering featured on the Sunday Business Show this week. Founder Valerie Vetter explained to Conall that this is a place to help you though planning and preparing for loss. Facing death is never easy so Aftering aims to guide you through the process to create a unique and personalised celebration of someone’s life.

Their company mission  is to provide practical guides to try and help you organise events around funerals and to deal with the issues around loss. They focused first on the US and got a great response where they can offer price listing for funeral packages. They can also offer links to alternative services/ burials incl. putting ashes of a loved one into a bullet and firing it!

Aftering is an online platform to help you prepare and plan for loss. It is a resource that empowers people to make personalised choices, plan and save money. Dealing with death is difficult enough but when you look online for help content is fragmented and not user-centric. Aftering works by connecting bereaved people to trusted information to make better decisions.

 

Aftering was one of the 12 start ups included in NDRC LaunchPad initiative.
