Flynn 'My Gold' Play Irish Artist Of The Week
Jaysus Mullingar is producing a rake of fine musical talent these days, FlYNN has arrived and we love his sound which is why we have made him Play Irish Artist of The Week on Lost in Music!
Aged just 19, he packed his bags and ventured to Bristol where he fell in love with the hip-hop and R&B scene. For years, he played the city’s open mic nights every week to craft his sound. The 26-year-old returned to Ireland in 2016 following a stint in London where he honed his gritty vocals and songwriting.
These different music scenes have all contributed to his development as an artist, transitioning from acoustic sets to more adventurous electronic Indie-pop.
FLYNN signed as one of Diffusion Lab’s newest recruits in March 2018, alongside Lost in Music faves Soulé, Jafaris and Rushes. Since partnering up with the mega production unit FLYNN has released ‘Red Light’ and ‘Peace of Mind’ which have been streamed more than 4 million times in less than 6 months.
According to FLYNN 'My Gold' is about losing someone that means the world to you, someone as valuable as gold. The song is about a break up that I went through. I could have done more at the time to hold onto the person but I let my work life get in the way and let her slip away, and now I live with the what if's and the regret of not doing more to make it work.
