One-third of boys aged just 8 years old are playing over 18 video games online.

Zeeko's concluded its findings following a survey of 6,847 primary-school children (3,050 boys and 3,797 girls).

According to the research children begin accessing the internet between the ages of 6 and 7.

Around 15% of primary school children are spending between 1 to 3 hours per day online.

However in 16% of cases this shot up to over 5 hours online at the weekends.
