A puppy has been seized by Revenue Officers at Dublin Port.
The officers found the chihuahua pup earlier this morning.
The alarm was raised when a UK national was stopped and questioned.
The little pup didn't have a pet passport and wasn't microchipped either, which is required by law.
The DSPCA is now looking after the dog, where he is receiving urgent veterinary attention.
A follow-up investigation is underway.
