Bombardier has announced it's decreasing its workforce

Aircraft manufacturer Bombardier is to cut 490 jobs in Northern Ireland.

The roles are based at the firm's Belfast operation and are being cut after what the company calls a review of its manpower requirements.

The Unite union has described the job losses as a "bombshell" and a "heavy blow" to the local economy.

Bombardier announced plans earlier this month to cut 5 thousand jobs globally.
