Putting black boxes into cars could tackle motor insurance fraud and bring down the cost of cover.
'Telematics' involves attaching a device to a vehicle which can record things like speed - how fast the brakes were applied and even if the horn was used.
So far only AIG and Aviva use the technology here but British drivers who fit one have seen their insurance premiums drop by around 160 euro a year.
