The aircraft refuelling system at Stansted Airport in the UK has now been repaired following damage after a lightning strike.
Some flights were diverted to East Midlands Airport this afternoon.
Flights to and from Dublin were among those affected as many people attempted to leave the country after returning home to vote.
It follows dramatic storms in the area last night.
