The family at the centre of an eviction in Co Roscommon have released a statement, expressing disappointment with the Taoiseach's comments in the Dail today.
The McGanns say they believe his remarks are a deliberate attempt to deflect attention from some of the very serious issues relating to the eviction.
Their family home in Strokestown was repossessed last week.
In the Dail today, there was a heated debate between Leo Varadkar and Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty over a violent attack on security guards who had removed the family from the property.
Tonight, in a statement issued through Sinn Féin MEP Matt Carthy, the McGanns say they condemn all forms of violence and have asked the Taoiseach to refrain from making comments that further compound their distress.
They appealed for privacy as they continue to prepare for Christmas - adding they'll be making no further statements as the eviction is a legal matter.
