Elsa was handed into Dogs Trust

A family has been reunited with their dog in Dublin exactly a year to the day since she went missing.

Elsa's owner Megan says she got a call from Dogs Trust on the anniversary of her disappearance.

The German Shepard was brought to the rehoming centre after she was found by two ladies out walking.

Dogs Trust were able to identify Elsa by her microchip and get in touch with her owners who she's now been reunited with.

Sean, his wife Megan and their children Penny and Oscar say they're over the moon.

'She was sniffing around us for a few minutes and when we brought the kids in she knew then that she was coming home.'

'The minute she came into the house she was straight over to her little corner and sat down straight away, it's like she hasn't been gone.'
