There are fears a gangland feud in north Dublin is escalating after the seizure of a stash of weapons.
A sub-machine gun and four handguns were found in a backpack in Coolock yesterday.
Gardaí believe they were ditched by a man in his 20s, who fled from officers during a routine operation yesterday.
The search is continuing today for the suspect.
A car he was driving has been impounded, and the firearms are being inspected by Garda ballistics experts.
Crime Editor with The Irish Sun Stephen Breen says the Hutch Kinahan row isn't the only one plaguing the capital: "There are tensions in Ballymun, in Coolock, in Finglas, in Clondalkin and Blanchardstown, and weapons have been seized across the board. So, it's not just the Kinahan and Hutch feud that's ongoing. There are other dangerous criminal gangs out there who are willing to use guns in broad daylight in front of innocent people".
