It's claimed Dublin Bus should completely rethink some of its routes to clear the way for a pedestrianised College Green.
A week-long oral hearing by An Bord Pleanala gets underway today, to hear submissions on the controversial plans.
It comes as a taxis protest rush hour restrictions through College Green in a bid to ease the gridlock there.
Taxis are set to be banned from travelling southbound at peak times from today.
Joe Heron from the Irish Taxi Drivers' Federation says that they were hoping that the move would be delayed for a week so that they could discuss it with the Minister, 'Our problem with it is that they have given us no alternative route'.
