It's understood he was stabbed to death

South African Police are investigating the murder of an Irish man.

It's understood John Curran, a former Director of Education at Mellon Educate in Cape Town, was stabbed to death.

Captain Ezra October confirmed emergency services declared Mr Curran dead at his apartment yesterday morning at around 10.30.

Police in Capetown have launched a murder investigation and are following a number of lines of inquiry.

A post mortem is due to be carried out either tomorrow or Monday.

 

The Department of Foreign Affairs says it's aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.
