It’s happening already, only a week away from Halloween and we’re already getting ready for New Years Eve!

Sure isn’t it nice to have things to look forward to?

Today, the New Years Festival in Dublin announced a very exciting lineup of activities in the run up to the new year.

2018....the year where we promise to actually go to the gym...maybe.

They have said that Dublin City will light up for 2 days of excitement with some pretty cool events that will have us looking like this:

So what can you expect?

There will be a free family friendly Liffey Lights Midnight Moment Mantinee event taking place which for the first time allows families and friends of all ages to ring in the new year together. Kicking off at 6.30PM the colourful event will feature light shows, acrobats and street performers.

Following this onlookers are promised to be amazed at the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment.  Which is said to be a high-flying, aerial and aquatic spectacle with a dazzling light show of over 100 aqua beams and spotlights taking place at 11.30PM.

If you’re looking for some tunes to take you into the New Year organisers have also announced the 3Countdown Concert with Kodaline and special guests Hudson Taylor and Keywest, tickets are €45.05 including booking fee go on sale this Thursday 26 October at 9am.

And if none of that tickles your fancy you can simply ring in the new year with the Spire as it will be beaming light into space as the clock strikes midnight.

And once all of the NYE antics finish up you can spend New Years Day at Custom House Quay from 12 noon until 4pm where there will be entertainment from award winning international and national street performers and the annual New Year's Day Concert.

...and of course there will be face painting.
