Staff are said to have been 'genuinely blown away' by the support they've received

Lidl says it has redeployed everyone who works at its store in Dublin's Fortunestown to other stores.

Major repair works need to be carried out, after a digger was used to cause extensive damage to the building during Storm Emma.

The company has held a meeting with all affected staff, saying the workers are genuinely blown away by the swell of support.

The retailer said on Twitter: "The store manager Ruth and her team would like to thank everyone for their kind words in the aftermath of this incident.

"The team are genuinely blown away by the swell of support from, not just the community that they serve daily, but from right around the country."
