Three people have died after a shooting in the north-eastern French city of Strasbourg
It happened close to a popular Christmas market.
A dozen other people were injured, with five of them said to be in a serious condition.
A major manhunt is now underway as police search for the suspected gunman.

He's been identified as a man born in Strasbourg who was well-known to police and security services.
The suspect was wounded by soldiers during a shootout, police confirmed an hour after the incident started.
French interior minister Christophe Castaner said 350 police are taking part in the search, supported by two helicopters.

A terror investigation has been opened for murder and attempted murder.
Several MEPs were among those in the area when the shooting happened.
Irish MEP Martina Anderson, who was in the city centre, explained: "I heard over six shots, and at that stage there was chaos, confusion.
"Everyone was running - it was pandemonium".

The Irish embassy in Paris advised people in the area to follow the advice of the local authorities.
