Disagreement over border wall with Mexico fails to be resolved

A partial U.S. government shutdown is likely to drag on through the Christmas holiday.

It's because politicians have failed to end an impasse over funding for Donald Trump's border wall with Mexico.

The President wants five billion dollars to build it but the Democrats have said no.

Chuck Schumer is the Senate Democratic Leader and has given Mr Trump this warning " It will never pass the Senate. Not today, not next week , not next year. So Mr President , President Trump , if you want to open the government , you must abandon the wall."
