Peter McVerry Trust Supported 8% More People Last Year

The number of people supported by the Peter McVerry Trust has risen by 8% last year.

The charity's annual report shows they helped just under 5,000 people in 2017.

Meanwhile, demand for their services has grown by 40 per cent since 2011.

CEO Pat Doyle believes the demand for their services will remain stready for the next 2 years.

The organisation launched its annual report today as they unveiled 13 new apartments on Castle Street in Dublin city.

All of the tenants will be coming from some form of emergency accommodation.

The 7 two beds and 6 one bed apartments will be filled in time for Christmas.
