A portrait of all sitting female TDs and senators has been unveiled at Leinster House.
The painting, by artist Noel Murphy, features all 53 female members of the Dáil and Seanad - as well as Countess Markievicz, the first woman elected to parliament.
It was produced to mark 100 years of women's suffrage, and unveiled on International Women's Day.
Ceann Comhairle Sean Ó Feargháil said today is an opportunity to celebrate "the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity".
Speaking as the painting was unveiled, Labour TD Joan Burton said it is always a shock to see somebody else's image of her.
However, she added that she much preferred it to some of the high-profile impressions of her.
"It's much better, I think, than Mario Rosenstock or Oliver Callan, being honest," she laughed. "And I think a lot of the other women who've had that privilege would say the same."
