The anti-apartheid campaigner has died aged 81 after a long illness

South African anti-apartheid campaigner Winnie Madikizela-Mandela has died, aged 81.

Her family say she died "peacefully" after a long illness.

The ex-wife of Nelson Mandela had been in and out of hospital since the start of the year.

South African president Cyril Ramaphosa is among those paying tribute.
