The Irish Aviation Authority is investigating the sighting of a UFO by a number of planes flying over Ireland last Friday.
Shannon Air Traffic Control received a call from a British Airways flight passing over Kerry asking if there were military exercises taking place at the time
The pilot described a bright light that came up along the plane before disappearing at a very high speed.
Two other planes also reported seeing the object in the area at the time.
In a statement the IAA says: Following reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday 9th November of unusual air activity the IAA has filed a report. This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process

Irish aviation journalist Gerry Byrne suspects what the pilots saw was a shooting star: 'What we call a shooting star is a meteorite. And when you look up at the sky and you see a shooting star, you could actually be looking at something the size of a grain of dust or sand hitting the earth's atmosphere and they burn up very quickly and disappear'.
