Three weather warnings are now in place across 10 counties.
Winds of up to 95 km an hour are expected in Galway, Mayo, Clare and Kerry.
While two rainfall warnings remain in place for Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Kilkenny, Wexford, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary until three o'clock this afternoon.
Widespread persistent or heavy rain this morn with blustery SE winds & spot flooding, especially in Munster. This aft, rain will gradually clear northwards. Heavy showers will follow over the W half of the country with strong, gusty S winds, a risk of thunder. Highs of 10 to 12C.
