Two men are due in court this morning charged in connection with a serious assault on a Laois GAA player in Carlow town.
Daniel O'Reilly was injured in the attack, which involved a number of people and happened at the Potato Market in the early hours of Monday morning.
O’Reilly was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny where his injuries are described as serious.
The men in their 20s were arrested on Tuesday and are due before Carlow District Court this morning.
