A woman in her 50's is recovering in hospital after being knocked down by a taxi in Dublin overnight.
She was struck by the car just before 1am on the Leinster Road in Rathmines.
The woman remains in St James Hospital this morning - the extent of her injuries are not known at this stage.
The road was closed for a time this morning to allow investigators examine the scene but has since reopened.
Gardai in Rathmines Garda Station are appealing for witnesses.
