Conan a doubt for Leinster but Sean Cronin available for selection

Jack Conan is Leinster's biggest injury doubt for this Saturday's Champions Cup quarter final against Wasps.

The versatile back row missed out on last week's Pro 12 win against the Cardiff Blues due to a tight calf, and will be assessed throughout the week by Leinster's medical staff.

If Conan fails to prove his fitness, Leinster will have Rhys Ruddock available to pack down at the back of the scrum. The Irish international deputised for Conan and Jamie Heaslip on Saturday, going on to claim the man-of-the-match award.

The rest of Leinster's injury news seems largely positive. Sean Cronin is in line to return in some capacity at the Aviva Stadium. He returned to full training last week after being out since January with a hamstring injury, and despite not playing against Cardiff, he was on standby for the matchday squad as 24th man. Management say he should be available for selection this weekend.

Another player who is moving close to a return is Dave Kearney. The winger has been out of action for the last five weeks with a toe injury, but did take a full part in training today.

Josh van der Flier (shoulder), Isa Nacewa (knee) and Rory O'Loughlin (shoulder) all made their comebacks from injury at the RDS on Saturday, and are available for selection once again, after coming through the game unscathed. The province have also confirmed that prop Ed Byrne, winger Barry Daly and centre Tom Daly have all been added to their European squad.

There could also be some familiar faces returning to face Leinster at the Aviva Stadium, with former blues Marty Moore, Jimmy Gopperth and Brendan Macken all featuring for the Premiership side in their 40-33 win against Worcester yesterday.

Moore and Gopperth both started with the Australian kicking four conversions, while Macken crossed for a late try, having replaced Gopperth in the centre.
